Weather
Weather along the Skeleton Coast can shift quickly—from cool, misty mornings with fog to warm desert heat later in the day. Temperatures range from 10°C to 40°C, depending on the season. Windy conditions are common, so being prepared for changing temperatures is important.
What to Wear
Dress in comfortable layers to handle both coastal coolness and desert warmth. Light, breathable clothing works best for heat, while a windproof jacket helps in colder areas. Sturdy walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are essential. Bring extra water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
What to Bring
Pack a small backpack for your essentials. Bring closed shoes, plenty of water, a hat or cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, a light jacket, and your camera or phone for capturing the scenery. A windbreaker is helpful for coastal stops.
Guests & Spectators
This 6–8 hour tour is designed for small groups to ensure a personalized experience. Safari vehicles accommodate 2–8 guests, and private 4×4 tours accommodate up to 4 guests. Pick-up is after breakfast at your accommodation in Swakopmund.
We follow strict health and safety standards, offering masks, fresh water for handwashing, and drinking water throughout the day. Expect some light walking on uneven terrain, especially when exploring the Cape Cross seal colony. The air around the seals has a strong natural smell—part of the experience!
The tour is suitable for children aged 8 and older, and we recommend dressing in layers since the Cape Cross area can be windy or chilly even when inland temperatures are warm.
